Abstract
This paper presents the design of Artificial Neural Network ANN (Identifier and controller). It replaces the conventional Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) of a generator. The Identifier is used to identify the complex nonlinear dynamics of the power system. Result are presented to show that the neurocontroller can control the Voltage of generator under steady-state as well as transient condition, thus, allow the generator to operate more closely to their steady- state stability limits.
