The Iraqi Journal of Computers, Communications, Control and Systems Engineering (MJCS) is an Open Access international, peer-reviewed journal publishing high-quality, original research. Please see the journal's Aims and Scope for information about its focus and peer-review policy.
Open Access means you can publish your research so it is free to access online as soon as it is published, meaning anyone can read (and cite) your work.
Manuscripts must be written in English in a clear and concise manner. Any author who is not fluent in idiomatic English is urged to seek assistance with manuscript preparation prior to submission. Reviewers are not expected to correct grammatical errors and any deficiency in this area may detract from the scientific content of the paper and result in acceptance delays or rejection.
The journal seeks to publish two types of contributions in the form of original articles, and reviews.
- Original articles: Articles which represent in-depth research in various scientific disciplines.
- Review articles: Should normally comprise less than 10,000 words; contain unstructured abstract and includes up-to-date references. Meta-analyses are considered as reviews. Special attention will be paid to the teaching value of review papers.
Please make sure that your manuscript meets the below criteria:
- Your manuscript is an original work and has not been published or is currently under review with another journal or Conference Proceedings.
- Your work meets all the Research Ethics. The manuscript should contain a separate section of "Ethics Approval" if the work involves human or animal subjects.
- The English of the manuscript is acceptable and it should be free of grammatical and spelling errors.
- Manuscript should be submitted without authors’ names and affiliations (Blind).
- Your figures are of acceptable quality and uploaded as separate files.
- Your references are formatted correctly and numbered as they appear in the text. Please show the reference style.
- Only manuscripts of sufficient quality that meet the Aims and Scope of the journal will be reviewed.
- Manuscripts must conform to the guidelines of the journal shown below.
- Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines will be rejected or returned to the authors prior to the peer review process.
Online Submission
Manuscripts should be submitted by one of the authors of the manuscript through the online Editorial Manager submission system following the instructions given on the screen. Only Word (.doc, .docx, .rtf) files can be submitted, and there is no page limit. Submissions by anyone other than one of the authors will not be accepted. The submitting author takes responsibility for the manuscript during submission and peer review. If for some technical reason, submission through the submission system is not possible, the author can contact ijccce@uotechnology.edu.iq for support.
Initial Evaluation
All submitted manuscripts will be checked by the Editorial Office to determine whether they are properly prepared and whether they follow the ethical policies of the journal. All submitted manuscripts are screened for potential plagiarism check. Manuscripts that do not fit the journal's ethics policy or do not meet the standards of the journal will be rejected before peer review. Incomplete manuscripts not prepared in the advised style will be sent back to authors without scientific review. After these checks, the Editorial Office will consult the journal’s Editor-in-Chief to determine whether the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and whether it is scientifically sound. Manuscripts with insufficient priority for publication will be rejected promptly. Please write your text in good English (American usage is accepted). The Editor reserves the right to reject a manuscript on the grounds of insufficient language quality. Reject decisions at this stage will be verified by the Editor-in-Chief.
Submission Declaration and Verification
Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract, a published lecture, or an academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright holder. To verify originality, all manuscripts submitted to IJCCCE are screened using Crossref Similarity Check Powered by iThenticate to identify any plagiarized content.
Article Structure
The manuscript should be compiled in the following order:
- Title page
- Abstract, Keywords
- Introduction
- Material and methods (Experimental or Methodology or Patients and methods)
- Results
- Discussion (Results and discussion can be combined in one section)
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgment(s)
- Conflicts of Interest
- Funding
- References
Conflicts of Interest
As part of the journal’s updated policy, all new submissions must include a Conflicts of Interest / Competing Interests statement in the manuscript (e.g., after Acknowledgments and before References). Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial interests that could be perceived to influence the work. If no competing interests exist, please include the statement: “The authors declare no competing interests.”
Funding
As part of the journal’s updated policy, all new submissions must include a Funding statement in the manuscript (e.g., after Acknowledgments and before Conflicts of Interest/References). Authors must disclose all sources of financial support for the work, including the full name of the funder(s) and grant/award number(s) where applicable. If multiple funders supported the work, list each funder separately.
Authors must also state the role of the funder(s) in the research and publication process (study design; data collection, analysis, and interpretation; writing of the manuscript; and the decision to submit/publish).
Sample wording (funder has no role):
“This work was supported by [Funder name] (grant no. [XXXX]). The funder had no role in the study design; collection, analysis, or interpretation of data; writing of the manuscript; or the decision to submit the manuscript for publication.”
Sample wording (funder had a role):
“This work was supported by [Funder name] (grant no. [XXXX]). The funder had a role in [describe role(s), e.g., study design / data analysis / decision to publish].”
Sample wording (no specific funding):
“This research received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.”
If funding was provided indirectly (e.g., institutional or departmental support, equipment, materials, or services), this should also be disclosed in the Funding statement.
Proofs
One set of page proofs (as PDF files) will be sent by e-mail to the corresponding author. Please use this proof only for checking the typesetting, editing, completeness, and correctness of the text, tables, and figures. We will do our best to get your article published quickly and accurately. Therefore, it is important to ensure that all of your corrections are sent back in one communication within 48 h. proofreading is solely your responsibility. Note that the publisher may proceed with the publication of an article if no response is received.
Revised Manuscripts
The authors must submit the revised version of their submissions within one month of receiving the editorial decision. Revision does not mean that the manuscript will be accepted for publication, as the amended submissions could be sent out for reevaluation. In response to reviewers’ comments, the authors must ensure that each comment is followed by their revision and/or response. In instances where an author disagrees with a comment or suggestion of a reviewer, please justify the reason. Any associated changes in the manuscript must be highlighted in the revised form of the manuscript to facilitate the process of re-evaluation.
Revised manuscript: Clarifying the changes you have made since the original submission by using the "Track Changes" option in Microsoft Word. Upload this as a "Revised Article with Changes Highlighted" file.
Response to reviewers: Type the specific points made by each reviewer. Include your responses to all the reviewers' and editors' comments and list the changes you have made to the manuscript. Upload this document as a "Response to reviewers" file.
Revised manuscript (clean copy): Upload a clean copy of your revised manuscript with names, which does not show your changes. Upload this as your "Manuscript" file.
After Acceptance
Upon acceptance, your article will be exported to production to undergo typesetting. Once the typesetting is complete, you will receive the proofs.
Peer Review
The journal is devoted to peer-review integrity with the highest standards of review. Each received manuscript is initially evaluated for suitability to the journal by the editor. Manuscripts are rejected by the editors if they are insufficiently original, have serious scientific flaws, need extensive improvement in the language, or do not fall within the Aims and Scope of the journal. Manuscripts deemed suitable are sent to a minimum of two external peer reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. This journal operates a double -blind review process (the names and information of the reviewers are hidden from the author). Editors will make a decision based on the reviewers’ reports and authors are sent these reports along with the editorial decision on their manuscript. Authors should note that even in light of one positive report, concerns raised by another reviewer may fundamentally undermine the study and result in the manuscript being rejected. For more details about the peer review process, please visit the Editorial Policies page.
Article Publishing Charge
The primary goal of IJCCCE is to provide the interesting researchers and readers with high-quality articles in the fields of computer, communications, control and systems engineering in open-access policy. This policy supports researchers around the world, and to ensure the continued development of IJCCCE journal while maintaining access to authors, we have introduced APC Fees. We realize the importance of providing a comprehensive platform for researchers to share their work without any financial burden. We also carefully made sure to offer the APC at reasonable prices of (110,000 Iraqi dinars) divided into (22,000 Iraqi dinars) for the submission fee and (88,000 Iraqi dinars) for all accepted manuscripts. It is necessary to note that there is no APC for authors from countries outside Iraq.
Through this initiative, we seek to make easy the dissemination of innovative ideas and developments in the field of computers, communications, control and systems engineering.
It is wonderful chance for authors to present their articles and spreading them around the world using online and freely availability, the availability includes free download and exploring over the journal website.
We are confident that by making APC fees affordable, we will enhance the accessibility and inclusiveness of scientific research, and make it possible for researchers from diverse backgrounds and institutions to participate actively in the scientific discourse.
